Working Together
The idea behind Retelling your Story is really to do just that. To offer you a chance to change the narrative you have created about yourself.
A story typically has a beginning, a middle and an end, connected to each other by series of twists, turns, surprises and struggles. When we work together, we start with your beginning. That is, with the picture you drew for yourself of the world and your place in it during your early years. We don’t dig into the detail of past incidents or traumas (for that you would be better served by a therapist) but through a series of non-judgemental questions, we expose your core beliefs about yourself.
Having established your beginning, we can look at the middle of your story. The here and now, where we start to see how your beliefs, which are often limiting in nature and always working away in the background, feed into the issue that is troubling you, or the goal you’re finding it hard to reach.
The end, of course, remains unwritten. That is the beauty of life. We never know what is going to happen next. But in working together, you will become well-equipped to deal with whatever comes up. You will learn to see when your subconscious mind is in control and to ignore its nonsensical negative chatter. You will be able let go of the thoughts that don’t serve you and genuinely retell your own story.
